Week of April 12

Hey there!
I have to apologize. It's been a while since my last post, life has been a little crazy!
Some reminders...
  • We are in need of spare change for our Save the Arctic Animals Fund.
  • Speaking of Arctic Animals, get started on those projects :)
  • AIMS THIS WEEK. PLEASE MAKE AN EXTRA EFFORT TO HAVE YOUR LITTLE ONE AT SCHOOL NO LATER THAN 8:00 A.M.
  • Due to AIMS, we will be doing some learning outside. Be sure to send your little one with sunscreen on.
  • Subway Fundraiser begins this Wednesday. Our class directly receives 20% of what we sell.

Week Seventeen

Hey there, last week went well!!! I was expecting a much more rowdy bunch of kidddos to come back but they were really pretty good ;) Well, we are moving on to numbers beyond 20 this week, could you continue practicing numbers 11-20 at home or even while on the road?
This Friday we are having a rodeo!!!!!! Be sure to dress your little one in the appropriate attire and work on those stick horses :)

Week Sixteen

Welcome Back!
I hope you all had an enjoyable break. Oh and I absolutely have to say thank you for all of the splendid holiday gifts I received, thank you thank you thank you!! I loved everything and felt like a million bucks reading through all of the sweet cards. I love your children so much and look forward to this last half of the year that we'll have together.

Please continue to practice reading and writing the spelling words, and reading through the story. This extra practice will be vital as we continue through the curriculum.

Math:
This week's objective is to...

  • Review numbers 11-20... Our class is struggling with this. Can you review these numbers each night with your child? They need to identify numbers 11-20, count numbers 11-20 numerically, and understand the quantities of numbers 11-20.
Language Arts:
Objectives...
  • Identify and use punctuation marks (period and question marks).
  • Use inventive spelling to write sentences. Encourage your child to do this at home often! They like to sound out and write and that extra practice is (yet again) so beneficial.

Week Fourteen

Thanks to everyone for the success of our Thanksgiving Feast! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving of your own. This time of year is so fun for me, I am looking forward to all of the fun things we'll be doing over the next few weeks. Oh and how bout that Christmas program?! I have to say our class was the cutest bunch of elves I've ever seen!

  • Cambridge is instituting "Pizza Fridays"! You may now choose to purchase pizza for your child's Friday lunches. To participate, submit money on Thursday and send your little one with a drink on Friday. A flyer on Pizza Fridays will go out tomorrow in take home folders.
